Neither Sow nor Reap, 2023
A large-scale art work utilizing beadwork, copper, painting, and epoxy resin on a wood panel. The work features beaded birds, a tree formed from antique copper embroidery plates, and a painted portrait of San Francesco.
Inspired by the story of San Francesco preaching to the birds: “My brother and sister birds, you should praise your Creator and always love him: He gave you feathers for clothes, wings to fly, and all other things that you need. It is God who made you noble among all creatures, making your home in thin, pure air. Without sowing or reaping, you receive God’s guidance and protection.”-Thomas of Celano (1200–ca. 1255)
